The Challenge


National brands like Honda and Mercury Marine offered Co-op funds to local dealers, but execution varied wildly. Dealers needed promotion templates and streamlined approvals, while brands lacked visibility into whether the spend was driving retail sales. I saw an opportunity to build a platform that balanced strict corporate brand control with the flexibility local dealers needed.


Strategic Action

  • Designed the Platform: Designed and launched the Covault platform, which used a templated system to allow dealers to launch "brand-safe" ads in seconds. This removed the bottleneck of corporate approval.
  • Simplified the Money Flow: Built the financial logic directly into the tool. Dealers could submit ads and get Co-op approval instantly, drastically reducing the friction that previously prevented them from spending marketing funds.
  • Closed-Loop Attribution: Connected OEM funding to regional sales results via a live dashboard. We could show a national brand exactly how much revenue their local market spend generated in a specific zip code.


Key Results:

  • 5X ROAS aggregated across national dealer networks.
  • International Adoption: The platform was adopted across US, Canada, Japan and EU markets.
  • Brick-and-Mortar Attribution: Successfully solved the problem of linking digital ad spend to physical retail sales.
